In the wake of his stage performance on ABC’s “American Music Awards” in which he kissed a man and simulated oral sex, former “American Idol” Adam Lambert has been fighting a running war with the network. Now it looks like he’s found a home on “The View.”

After taking heat from Adam Lambert’s fans and gay advocates for a week, ABC on Friday extended an olive branch of sorts to the “American Idol” runner-up who made headlines with his provocative performance last month at the American Music Awards in which he kissed a male musician.
ABC canceled Lambert’s scheduled appearances on “Good Morning America” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and stopped considering him for “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” which drew thousands of complaints from viewers and gay advocates who believed the network was retaliating against him because he is gay.

WASHINGTON — In the latest episode of its new reality series “Sanctimoniously Dumping Adam Lambert,” ABC has announced he will, in fact, perform on its airwaves again.
Lambert is scheduled to sing on the network’s daytime yakker “The View” on Thursday. That’s the day after Lambert talks with Babs Walters on ABC’S “10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.”
Only, unlike three other planned Lambert performances that ABC has canceled in recent days, both of this week’s appearances were taped in advance.
This gives ABC time to surgically remove any naughty bits.

The network has confirmed the American Idol eighth-season runner-up’s Friday night Twitter post that he’ll be appearing on The View’s December 10 broadcast, The Los Angeles Times reported.
“Hey friends! I will be performing and hanging w the ladies of ABC’s The View Thursday the 10th!” wrote Lambert in a post to his Twitter account before reminding his fans that he’ll also be appearing on The View producer Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People special on Wednesday night.
“Also look for me on Barbara Walters’ Ten Most Fascinating People of 09 the night before also on ABC.”
