Results of the poll: Adam Lambert’s (ONLINE) fans, Gender n’ Age Overview

The Poll
The Mr-L.org’s Adam Lambert’s fans: Gender n’Age Overview Poll was running in the period 4th of July – 10th of July. There have been placed 1294 votes, out of which 78 votes have been removed as proven corrupted*.
The poll has been made online only and distributed across Adam Lambert’s fansites, that is why the results of it cannot be considered as reflecting ALL Adam’s fans – simply because it does not cover those who are not using those sites.

The link to it has been placed on the below Adam Lambert fansites/forums:
adamofficial.com
adamunofficial.ning.com
twitter.com
idolforums.com
theadamlambertconnection.com
GlambertRocks (adamlambertalltheway – forum)
TWoP (removed after a while as against the rules of this site)….

*Corrupted Votes
…and also – not intentionally – at idletard.com, where the corrupted votes came from.

I have been for longer time aware of the existence of this site and acknowledged that they spent all their time to among others prove the point that the elder females’ massive interest in American Idol is ridiculous.
Fair enough – and they probably understand what it means to have the right to free speech. But what they don’t understand is that once they mess up others’ websites, they should consider going back to kindergarden in order to learn the basic rules of proper behaviour between humans.

So yes – they tried to mess up this poll by getting the idea that they will all vote as ‘Man 70+’:

main

etc, etc.. (please note that ‘Madam’ is the nickname for Adam used at that site)

All 78 (6%) votes have been placed in this category:

so without thinking twice, I was forced to entirely remove it.

The Results
It means then that the new, ‘corrected’ final results look like below:

poll results2

Conclusions:

* the dominated gender at the Adam-fansites are females

* the 2 biggest groups of Adam’s fans with equal percentage (20%) are
women 20-29 years and
women 40-49 years old
followed by the 3rd biggest fangroup of
girls 13-19 years old (17%)

* summing up and comparing the 2 dominated fan groups:

YOUNGER FEMALES (age 0-39) dominated group: 619 votes equal to 51% of all votes
MATURE FEMALES (age 40+): 533 votes equal to 45% of all votes

Explanation
The term ‘COUGAR‘ is a slang term describing ‘an older woman who sexually pursues men at least eight years her junior. The term has been used in TV series, advertising and film’ (source: wikipedia.org).

Using this word to describe the mature women’s fascination of the personality of Adam Lambert seems to be wrong choice of words, as not all mature women are cougars by definition.

Additional Info
The similar polls have been made at the singaporeglambert‘s site (similar result) as well as at nymichael.com.

Thanks
Thanks a lot to jools for raising a valid point, to all of you who took a while to place your dot in this poll and to all of you who commented on it.
Thanks also to idletards.com for revealing their existence and by this providing the partial answer to the question why Adam Lambert, the best contestant in American Idol Season 8 edition, didn’t win this show…
And finally thanks to Adam Lambert for being the endless source of inspiration…

Question:
Where are the male fan’s of Adam Lambert?

I am glad that I’m in good company with 20% of the overall vote. I didn’t take the poll although I saw it many times, and it was tweeted many times. I’ve taken other polls similar to this, however this one seems more organized. Regardless, consider this mama cougar to have voted in the 40 -49 year category and were even 244/244 (perhaps the generation gap insn’t that large after all)! It’s kewl to have something so obsessively in common with someone as young as 20 years my jr. Thanks, Mr. L :)

I don’t think the poll is representing young males accurately. I think Adam has more male fans under 30 than the poll might suggest.

No. Thanks to YOU for the time and space to give us an answer to this question once and for all :) I am bookmarking this page for the next time some naysayer uses the ‘cougars/older fans’ against Adam.

Again, I am really sorry if I unintentionally gave the impression my original comment was in any way directed at you. I forget sometimes that they way things sound in my head is sometimes not the way they appear in written form.

Women, seems to me, have always been the strongest supporters of most sexy solo artists — re Elvis. I do believe there are more male fans for Adam as well, but they are not among those who hang out on fansites. Oh what they are missing!

where are they (men)? realistically, anywhere but providing feedback to polls on fansites, or on fansites at all, or at American Idol concerts for that matter, because of all the extraneous hoopla requiring feats of teeth-grinding endurance. They’re “out there” en masse, but will not be revealed until a pure Adam experience is made available, albeit his debut album or solo concert. Adam is sharp enough to realize that the currently available snapshot of his fanbase/audience is not representative of his target long-term following. imho.
