Danny Gokey: ‘I’m happy for Adam’ – by Columbian.com

Columbian.com’s Alan Sculley has made an interview with Danny Gokey published on the 2nd of July 2009 and the big part of that interview was actually focused on …Adam Lambert.
An excerpt of it is below:

In some ways, Gokey seems to be getting nearly as much attention as Allen. Even though Allen was the champion, there’s little doubt that most eyes are focused on Lambert in the aftermath of season eight.
It was Lambert, after all, who landed on the cover of “Rolling Stone” magazine in the wake of the season finale. There also seems to be considerably more anticipation for Lambert’s first CD, which it appears will include producer RedOne in a featured role.
Gokey said he has no problems with the attention Lambert is receiving.

Danny Gokey: “I don’t mind that at all. That’s like his thing. He’s stands out. He’s the type of guy who stood out in the auditions. … I don’t mind it at all, and I’m actually happy for him.”

I love the last lines: “I don’t mind it at all, and I’m actually happy for him.” He says this with such little conviction. I really do not believe he is very happy with how Adam is getting all the attention, but I am so so happy. Adam deserves it.

What do you misunderstand? In the first place the star characteristics are not felt to Danyi! Had winning the championship; do not distribute it!

I think Danny was very sincere in these comments. In watching interviews with the other contestants, it seems much of their interviews become largely focused on Adam (much to my happiness). However, it must be frustrating to those contestants. And I pity anyone doing a combined interview with him (remember poor Megan?). About the only one Adam can be interviewed with jointly is Kris – and Kris always shines in those interviews, because Adam brings out the humor and personality in Kris – total Kradam Fan!

I think Danny’s comments are reflective of what every other Idol contestant has been saying… including Kris! As Adam has so strongly advocated – let’s stop the negativity – Adam hates it! While Danny struggles with the Nashville/Christian labels (praying you find happy ground), let’s rejoice in Adam’s new album and sweet comments about it: http://blogs.usatoday.com/idolchatter/2009/07/adam-lambert-says-he-will-rock-you-with-his-new-album.html?csp=34
