Michael Sarver made a short videoclip for his fans on MySpace at the time of rehearsals to the finale show of the American Idol season 8, 2009 on May 17th 2009.
The clip was made on the backstage of American Idol and featured all top 13 contestants – except from Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. The controversy lies in the sentence of Danny Gokey who says in the beginning of the clip: ‘I love this guy (Micheal Sarver) into pieces.’ Then M. Sarver tells ‘..in the right way’ and Danny Gokey laughs and answers : ‘in the right way, in a godly way’.
Many fans saw the invisible suggestion to Adam Lambert’s sexual orientation and posted their comments at the site and it resulted in Michael Sarver removing the video from his site with the below comment posted on May 18, 2009
Just want to say to those offended by this video that I am sorry you were offended. I did not intend that. In a world where I love u between guys can mean more then one thing we just wanted to clarify the status of our relationship. It had nothing to do with passing judgement.

He can try to explain this away til the cows come home…the bottom line is, he said it.
There would have been no need to “clarify” their relationship if there wasn’t the discomfort with the words, “I love you” between them. That gratuitous little joke was not so funny, after all…it will dog the two of them for a long time.
Perception is in part reality. It’s not what he said but who he said it to and what was going on in thei Idol bubble at the time. This followed hotly on the heels of the photo of Adam that the Gokey family provided for him to sign and the photos they had taken of themselves with Adam…the very definition of hypocritical.
Perhaps these guys have learned the lesson…talking out of one side of your mouth while smiling on the other side is not in the Godly way, either. That’s called being a hypocrite.
Remember, when God made Adam, He was just showing off!

Gokey is such a creep. He is the lowest. An uneducated piece of work and he hides behind a cross. He and Sarver. Pathetic!
