Rolling Stone: the fragments that were not included in the interview
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, Interviews, News, Press & Media on June 10th, 2009
The interview has been published. But now Rolling Stone come with more details from Adam that have not been included in the original material made by Vanessa Grigoriadis.
On why he auditioned for American Idol:
I looked at the music business, and realized it is nearly impossible to make it with the way it is right now. No one is going to take a chance with an artist who is somewhat out there. The only way you have a chance being looked at by a label right now is if you are what everyone else is. So I realized that I wouldn’t be taken seriously as a recording artist unless I had a huge platform. I saw that and I knew that Idol was the only thing that would do it — if it worked. On Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta:
[Kris Allen] has a good heart and a good spirit. He’s so mellow, he’s so kick-back. He and I have a lot of love with Allison Iraheta: It felt like this kind of sibling thing. Just good energy, the three of us together. Kris and I both got very protective of her. We encouraged her to pick up the guitar and take risks musically. It always felt very positive … good karma, you know? Kris doesn’t need any advice, clearly. Even though he’s really kick-back, he’s got a very strong sense of self in a non-aggressive, non-intense way. It’s cool.

Adam Lambert signed to the 19/RCA Records – ‘Get Ready’!!!
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, Music, News, Press & Media, Press Release on June 9th, 2009
Even if the Rolling Stone cover has been the leading topic of the day as far as Adam Lambert is concerned, we read at US Today, that Adam has signed his record deal with 19 Entertainment.
Press release:
(Los Angeles, CA – June 9, 2009) – American Idol season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert has been signed to 19 Recordings and licensed to RCA Records. He is preparing to start work on his debut album which is due for release in fall 2009.
Simon Fuller Creator and Executive Producer of American Idol and Founder & CEO of 19 Entertainment:
To find a talent as exceptional as Adam Lambert is a rare and special event. I am thrilled that American Idol was the platform for the world to discover this brilliant young man. He is unique and unforgettable and a certain star of tomorrow.
Barry Weiss, Chairman & CEO RCA/JIVE Label Group:
We are thrilled to be getting involved with Adam Lambert as we all at RCA Records believe he is one of those rare, future global stars.
Adam Lambert:
I’m thrilled that we’ve come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album. We are 100% on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It’s going to be ridiculous! Get Ready!!!
E!Online goes too far – speculations on Adam’s sexuality continue
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, Controversy, News, Press & Media on May 30th, 2009
With an effort to get some more media attention, E!Online magazine goes so far as to make a phone interview with Adam’s mother Leila and ask her to comment about her son’s sexuality. Call it disguisting (like I do) or call it a great media approach, the radio interview posted yesterday has now been removed from the site.
The excerpts from the interview are cited in the post on their blog under this link.
The post has been written yesterday, 29th of May and today there are 400 comments so far…
from E!Online:
“I would rather not answer until it comes out,” Leila Lambert said in a phone interview with E! News regarding Adam’s reported upcoming announcement to Rolling Stone that he is indeed gay.
Leila says she also signed a contract with American Idol and is not allowed to discuss her son’s personal life anyway without their permission.
Rumours Only? Short about the Arkansas votes and AT&T
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, American Idol 8, Controversy, Idol 8 Press, News on May 27th, 2009
Found this article about the controversy around the votes that came from Arkansas during American Idol finale. Please note that it is still on the stage of rumours only – nothing is officially confirmed. Speculations are however made. Please see the fragment of the article published at the site: adam-lambert.org:
It’s now Friday, May 22 and I just got this e-mail:
“I am a student at the University of Central Arkansas in the heart of Conway, AR…Kris Allen’s hometown. There was a newspaper article that was produced today by our local newspaper basically about how people could vote so many times for Kris Allen. I’m posting the link for the Conway, Arkansas newspaper as well as an email that was sent out through the UCA listserve that basically explains step by step how these Kris Allen fans or fanatics, if you will, were able to vote so many times. I thought I couldn’t do anything about it even though I thought it was a disservice and unfair. I’m glad that I am finally able to expose the people and their obsession with being “put on the map.”
Here’s the link she’s talking about.
Read the whole article under this link.
Also, The New York Times approaches the subject, writing:
AT&T, one of the biggest corporate sponsors of American Idol, might have influenced the outcome of this year’s competition by providing phones for free text-messaging services and lessons in casting blocks of votes at parties organized by fans of Kris Allen, the Arkansas singer who was the winner of the show last week. Representatives of AT&T, whose mobile phone network is the only one that can be used to cast “American Idol” votes via text message, provided the free text-messaging services at two parties in Arkansas after the final performance episode of “American Idol” last week, according to the company and people at the events.
For sure, there will be more to come and more to be revealed in the next days, so stay tuned!

‘Want’- single, 2 albums’ confusion and Adam Lambert’s statement – full coverage
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, Comments, Controversy, Music, News, Press & Media on June 20th, 2009
It began apparently with Perez Hilton mentioning Adam Lambert new-old single ‘Want’ at his website (‘Glambert World Premiere’).
Later Ryan Seacrest also included the song and the note about it in his blog. The track of the song has been later removed from his site on the request of Sony BMG.
But wait… where is the track coming from? From the new, post-Idol album made in cooperation with 19/RCA? Apparently not.
As we learn from Associated Press:
But as we all know
Confused? YES!
Rob Brunner from Entertainment Weekly explains it a bit better:
The album is produced by Malcolm Welsford and Mark Endert.
19 Entertainment, which manages Lambert and will license the first “official” album to RCA, had no comment.
And finally we get a statement from Adam himself:
A very good comment to the ‘Want’ – gate has been made at hitfix.com website, where we read:
The author of the article from Hitfix, Melinda Newman, also reminds that similar situation occured after Kelly Clarkson won American Idol for 8 years ago.
