IdolChatter about Adam Lambert’s album. And hair. And Tatoo.
Posted by admin in All Adam, Fashion, Interviews, Music, Press & Media on July 5th, 2009
Brian Mansfield from IdolChatter published at Boston.com, is blogging heavily about the Idols/Adam.
Recently he approached Adam’s physiology a bit closer…
Hair
Adam has blue highlights in his jet-black hair. They weren’t always noticeable under televison lights, but they’re very apparent when meeting him in person. “They’re a little punched up now from where they were,” he says. “The inspiration was one of those black feathers, you know, that are kind of iridescent? I took that to my hairdressers and said, ‘Make my hair look like that!’”
Tatoo
It’s inside Adam’s right wrist – the Eye of Horus, and Eqyptian heiroglyph symbolizing protection.
It’s like an evil eye.
He got it after he made the Top 36.
“A close friend who has lots of tattoos dragged me in. Right after the New York press circuit, I went and had additions put on to it — put more color, put extra lines into it. In a way, it’s cool, because it kind of completes my experience.”
Colors
These are my colors. I love these colors — turquoises, blues and greens.
In another article Bian Mansfield approaches Adam’s album by 19/RCA. First point to clarify is that RedOne doesn’t produce Adam’s debut album, but
He’s producing tracks on my album and writing with me, as well.
Before, I was doing the lyrics and the melody more on my own, with somebody that was creating the tracks. This is a situation where I’m co-writing everything, melodically and lyrically. I actually prefer it. I feel more secure with somebody else to bounce ideas off of, and then we kind of share, throw the ball back and forth and come up with a finished product. I work better like that. I’m so happy to be working with top-line people, the best. And these producers are bringing in top-line writers that they know to help.
The sound of music
Adam describes his new sound as having elements of classic rock and electronic music.
There’s a lot of anthems. You know how We Will Rock You by Queen is an anthem that you can put in stadiums and people will sing along to it? There’s a lot of that on the record so far. A lot of power-anthemy, sing-along stuff.
I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised, but it’s not going to be what they heard on the show.
He gives Born To Be Wild as the comparison to the possible sound… exciting!
RadarOnline – Adam Lambert gets accused for …’recycling’ his clothes

It’s not a news any longer, but I just found out that Adam Lambert has got knocked by RadarOnline for ‘recycling’ pieces of the same clothes that he wore on American Idol. It happened namely after the Young Hollywood Artist Award he got in the beginning of June 2009.
His outfit we’re putting it in the bottom three!
Glambert, as usual, attempted a statement in a custom-made jacket and skin-tight black and gray striped pants (from Melrose Avenue boutique Congregation of the Forgotten Saints). The almost-Idol told bystanders that AI hooked him up with an outfit for his special night. RadarOnline.com, however, tracked down his duds and caught the outrageous artist in a not-so-original ensemble!
He’s worn this before! On the show!
The too-tight-for-tv pants graced Lambert during a duet with Allison Iraheta, and the standout blazer for an Idol results show! The “new” Elvis-esque hairdo ain’t original either, folks!
For those who forgot, the same RadarOnline was clearly fascinated by Adam’s jacket in the July’s rehearsal-(hoopla!) interview….

Twitter change and the (part of) Adam Lambert’s tour jacket
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, American Idol 8, Fashion, Idol 8 Tour, Twitter on July 3rd, 2009
So – yes, here we go: the (part of the ) tour jacket made by Skingraft has been twitted by Adam Lambert today as an apetizer before the Idol Tour that starts in 2 days from now, in Portland.
Nice to see that Adamis using twitter as his popularity there is especially enormous since the fans can have this kind of ‘direct’ contact with him.
Adam’s twitter news include as well the change of the bio and avatar. Gorgeous as usual…

And finally Allison Iraheta posted some photos including Adam into her twitpic. (Thanks, Allison!)
‘With Los tres hermanos!! First tweet pic …whoooooo at the stadiummmmmmmmm….rehearsingg homies…!!! This show is gana be the shizzzz’
And so did Danny Gokey!

Adam rocks in ‘Rock and Republic’ pants – photo
In case you were curious what kind of jeans was Adam wearing under his performance of ‘No Boundaries’ , ‘Born To Be Wild,’ as well as his recent soiree in the Guys and Dolls club with his friend Drake LaBry – the answer is finally here. This piece of denim was from the collection of Rock and Republic and the model Adam wore is called Slim Fuck Pant (!(&%).

P.S. It looks like the pants and the shoes stick completely together. Were Adam’s shoes in the Rock and Republic’s acid, too?
InStyle analyzes Adam Lambert and his outfits during American Idol 8
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, American Idol 8, Fashion, Idol 8 Press on May 30th, 2009
InStyle online magazine has been closely monitoring the evolution of styles of all American Idol contestants this year. Adam was a category in itself, with his ‘gothic-inspired look—black spiky hair, eyeliner, chain necklaces and skinny jeans’ which ‘perfectly fit with the rock songs he sings’.
And as Paula Abdul said after his performance of Michael Jackson’s Black or White’: “You have an innate ability to know who you are as an artist and marry fashion with music’ and as Miles Siggins said: ‘He is like David Bovie, playing a new character each week.”
The below is the overview of what Adam Lambert has been singing and his outfits during his performances n American Idol season 8. Source: InStyle.com.
March 10th, 2009: Michael Jackson ‘Black or White’. Outfit: blue lether Diesel jacket, monarchy jeans, own graphic t-shirt, silver chains and boots.

Adam is talking about his family of music lovers, childhood years, and his early obsession with being on stage.
The ‘full circle moment’ calls Adam the meeting with Paula Abdul who was his idol when he was a child.
Describing American Idol as a competition with himself, he also answers a questions about his fashion inspirations and much, much more.
The crown on the show is his performance of the iconic ‘Mad World’.

The designers behind the jackets
As he mentioned in the post-finale interview, Mr.L admires the style of the designers’ trio from Skingraft in L.A. They stood behind the jacket he wore while singing ‘Rings of Fire’.

Hal Rubenstein on American Idol – and Adam’s feel for fashion
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, American Idol 8, Comments, Fashion, Idol 8 Press, Press & Media on May 29th, 2009
Fashion Director of InStyle magazine, Hal Rubenstein has his own column in HuffingtonPost. After the nation voted for the next American Idol, he wrote:
At the same time he is definitely not taking anything away from Allen’s ‘surprisingly soulful talent’ and he is sure that ‘he would rightfully have bested a final against Jordan Sparks, Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard and possibly even David Cook’.
And he is sure that as far as the results are concerned, Adam Lambert could have another strategy – in order to win.
As a man from the fashion world, he also comments on Adam’s feel for style and compare it to Kris’ lack of same.
