Old, old stuff – but so fresh indeed! Interviews with fans after Idol Tour concert in L.A. back in July (16th in Staples Centre) made by MTV.com.
And in the note attached to the video we read among others:
If Thursday’s American Idols Live! tour stop in L.A. proved anything, it’s that America’s love for Adam Lambert is as strong as ever. From the preshow screaming whenever his face appeared on the Staples Center JumboTron to the merch counter’s sellout of Adam T-shirts, the Glambert fascination was in full force.
This was especially true for the “American Idol” fans MTV News caught up with after the show, who had a common love for the rock star in the making.
“Obviously Adam,” Natalia Brandon said when asked her favorite performer. (We probably didn’t even have to ask, since Natalia was wearing a homemade Adam T-shirt and carrying a sparkly Adam poster.)
Beth Nilsson couldn’t pinpoint her favorite performance of the night, but she had no trouble picking one performer: “I liked all of Adam’s. Not to be, like, an Adam freak, but he was so good, every single one.”

Wendy Fry from SDNN – San Diego online magazine had a chance to ask Adam 3 questions via e-mail(!!!) before his Idol Tour performance in San Diego (article published on the 15th July 2009):
SDNN: What, in your opinion, was your best performance ever? Why?
Adam Lambert : While it’s hard to name a favorite, I had the most fun singing “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin! The band was kickin’, and I felt like I was able to really cut loose. It was also exciting because it was the first time Led Zeppelin has allowed someone to perform music of theirs on Idol.
SDNN: How do you choose the songs you will be performing Saturday to collaborate with other artists? Basically, with such a diverse range of talent, how do you guys work together to form a cohesive concert?
Adam Lambert: Aside from my duet with Allison Iraheta (which is a reprise of Slow Ride from Rock Week on the show) each of us has our own set to perform. I sing four songs solo and one duet within my set… These songs were chosen with the director and musical director of the show. We wanted a balance of songs I sang on Idol and new material.
SDNN: What is the first thing you’re going to do when you get to San Diego?
Adam Lambert: Unfortunately we have very little, if any, free time while in each city. The day will be spent at the venue doing sound check, various meet and greets and of course the show… If I had my way, I’d visit the Gaslamp for a great meal.

As long time ago as on the 14th of July Adam and the Idols have been interviewed by The Salt Lake Tribune’s David Burger after the Idol Tour concert in the Salt Lake City.

Adam Lambert — the second-place finisher was wearing more make-up than Joy and was very gracious. Instead of going out of the hotel Monday night, he stayed in bed and paid for an in-room movie, “Wolverine.” He said he was very into the X-Men when he was growing up. He depends on “throat coat” to treat his voice over the rigors of the 52-date tour, specifically the brand called “Traditional Medicinals.” He has been recording an album on off-days of the tour, and said that it will be stuff you can dance to, with some classic-rock-inspired elements. When asked if he was worried the album would be too slick, he said, “I love slick.”

Before you read it: the author is definitely not an Adam-fan.
One of the most negative critics of Adam’s performance so far. Written by John J. Moser from themorningcall.com on 9th of September 2009.

Winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert ironically seemed to have advanced the least. One could argue that’s because they least needed to, and both seem to have found niches.
Lambert was the clear favorite of the near-capacity crowd and the night’s best performer, but his theatrical set was very Broadway until he finished with a David Bowie medley of “Fame” and “Let’s Dance” that suited him well.
(Allison Iraheta’s) best performance was a duet with Lambert on Foghat’s “Slow Ride,” though its wasn’t Lambert’s, as he overdosed on his trademark yelps.
Lambert’s opening “Whole Lotta Love” was very loud, but not at all muscular, which is what the song requires. He was better on his showcase of Tears for Fears’ “Mad World,” but wasn’t as good as he was on the show.
He hit a stride, though, on the Bowie songs, taking off his jacket and dancing a grind that – despite his proclamation he’s gay – had women screaming and brought a bra flung up on stage.
It was telling that his set actually was longer than Allen’s, despite the latter being the supposed headliner. Lambert got by far the bigger screams and cheers.
