Adam Lambert about being ‘weird’ kid: TIMEkids’ backstage chat with Idols backstage – video.

Short interview with Idols at the backstage of IdolTour made by TIMEKids.
To me loks like only Adam and Scott still look fresh, all others are incredibly tired…or it’s me only??..

About Adam Lambert, the ‘multi octave range and classic rock god’ – by miamiherald.com

American Idols improve on tour, but the `As’ — Adam and Allison — have it all – this is the title of the Idol Tour concert review written by Howard Cohen at miamiherald.com on 29th of July 2009, after the Idol Tour concert in Sunrise.
The author directly calls Season 8 as ‘Adam’s World’.

Of course, we mean Adam Lambert, 27, he of the rubbery pelvis, mascara and polarizing multi octave range and classic rock god moves that all combined in a perfect pop storm to land him on the covers of Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly even before Idol crowned the safer, Disney-approved Kris Allen its winner.
Adam, who finished second, was nonetheless the star of the eighth American Idols Live Tour Wednesday night at Sunrise’s BankAtlantic Center.
Base this observation partly on his stellar performance. Adam, who always knew how to make an entrance on TV, didn’t disappoint as he exploded with Whole Lotta Love, his convincing Led Zeppelin cover. He brought shivers on Mad World again and he concluded his set with a David Bowie medley that went from space (Life on Mars?) to rave on a clubby Let’s Dance, complete with PG-13 hip thrusts.
Also, rank Adam the undisputed star by the decibel level in the arena from moms and daughters any time the San Diego rocker’s image flashed on one of the view screens above the bare stage.

Adam Lambert on Idol Tour: ‘The audience is giving us all this great positive energy!’ – by baynews9.com

BayNews9.com has also been at the meeting with journalists before the concert in Tampa.
The journalist described (on 29th of July 2009) all the Idols participating in this meeting. Below is the Adam-part:

Adam Lambert was wearing a specially blended shade of nail polish. The manicurist in the last city mixed it-iridescent blue and black. He had shirt with some creature with wings on it and was wearing a silver peace sign on a longish silver chain around his neck.
He says the tour is a lot!
“Every night when we get on stage, there’s tons of great people in the audience giving us all this great positive energy!”
He said he was glad to about his sexuality and to move on to what really mattered-his music.
“I don’t want to keep secrets from people I want to be upfront.”
Next for Adam: “Um I’ve been working on an album actually. It’s gonna be out in November. So we did some work on it before this tour started we are working on it currently, and we’re gonna work on it right when the tour is over, and we are gonna hopefully get it out in November! We’re hustling on it!”And since Adam is dating a Cajun-I passed on my parent’s favorite word-couyon I think it is spelled that way at least-It’s pronounced coo, like a dove and YAW, like the “aw” sound in lawn. It’s mean sort of “dummy,” like, “Get out of the street couyon!” He saved it in his phone for future use.
Till next Idol fans!!!

Adam Lambert: ‘I want to see where the music takes me’ – by tbo.com.

Walt Belcher from tbo.com in line with other journalists was there where 5 of Idols talked to the media during informal interview sessions at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa on 27th of July 2009 before their performance.
Adam Lambert was one of those 5 and he shared some thoughts about:

Fans signs of love: eyeliner, painted nails and more

I think a lot of the lady fans like to paint their nails and do all the make-up and wear bright colors. There’s a lot of other stuff, too, it really makes me smile when I see that; I think its cool.

He says a lot of his fans are wearing T-shirts with the Egyptian symbol for the Eye of Horus in honor of a tattoo he has on his wrist.

Idol Tour

American Idols Live tour has been a whirlwind of excitement, hard work but totally worth it to get up on that stage. When you are performing and the audience is screaming your name, it totally charges you up.

Forget Broadway

Now I want to be me. I don’t want to play a character. I want to see where the music takes me.

Second place in American Idol 8

Honestly, I didn’t go in it to win. I went in for the experience. I am competitive on stage but it was more about getting the exposure for my future.

He adds that he is pleased that he went as far as he did considering that he is an alternative style of performer.

It shows America was ready to judge based on talent.

‘When Adam Lambert so much as snarled, the crowd had a hernia’ – IdolTour concert review by tampabay.com

Stephanie Hayes, from tampabay.com has written a review from the 16th IdolTour concet that took place in Tampa on 27th of July 2009.
Some fragments are below:

American Idols

They’re regular folks — the guy who changes your oil, the mall girl with muffin top, your server at Applebee’s.
They’re regular, that is, until American Idol plucks them from obscurity so that we may dissect their every move, judge them harshly, hate them and celebrate them. Fun!
American Idol’s Top 10 contestants let us do it in person, performing Tuesday at the St. Pete Times Forum. The show was slick, corporately smarmy and pretty entertaining.

Adam Lambert

Clairvoyant guess: Adam Lambert loathes stools, dry ice and Mad World.
Reality check: When runnerup Lambert so much as snarled, the crowd had a hernia. They loved dreamy acoustic winner Kris Allen, too, but comparatively? Uh … oh look, a text message!

Adam Lambert in Memphis: ‘working the screaming crowd like a master puppeteer’ (Examiner.com)

Kelly Keltner has written a concert review from IdolTour concert in Memphis, American Idol 2009 Tour hits Memphis – Adam Lambert wins screaming contest, published on 28th Julyn 2009 on Examiner.com.
Adam-fragments below:

I knew I had stepped into the mouth of madness when I walked in and saw a woman wearing a shirt that was nothing but Adam Lambert’s eyeball. Not two eyeballs. Just one. And for the Glamberts out there: I don’t know which one it was. Do you guys and dolls have a preference? Because, if so, I’m sure it was that one.
The madness was only intensified anytime the jumbo-trons, guarding the stage like gargantuan monoliths, displayed the image of Adam Lambert. With each and every flash of his face, screams erupted throughout the crowd. At one point, they even replaced the top of his skull with an automobile. No matter. They still screamed.

(Danny Gokey’s) set ended and the air was nearly sucked out of the arena as almost every woman from age 2 – 98 took a preparatory breath as they awaited the appearance of the boy with the leather pants and guyliner. Looking back, those like me will remember the next moment as the moment that rendered their hearing less operative. Because as soon as the graphics appeared on the jumbo-trons indicating Adam’s arrival, the noise in the arena swelled to deafening roar. Imagine the sound that would occur if a thousand Robert Pattinsons were suddenly dropped into a swirling mass of schoolgirls and Twilight moms.
Adam’s set was less Billboard Pop 100 and more the cuts you’d find on the mp3 players of slightly more discerning music fans and wannabe hipsters (no offense intended: my MP3 player contains the discography of Bowie and Gary Jules’ Mad World, as well). He appropriately grinded across the stage, working the screaming crowd like a master puppeteer with him playing Jim Henson and thousands of female fans playing his Kermit.
You’re welcome.
It was easy to see how he won the title.
Oh wait. He didn’t?
