Adam Lambert on Idol Tour – Pittsburgh fan review
Posted by MsAlex in American Idol 8, August 2009, Idol 8 Tour on August 23rd, 2009

Found this great fan recap on the adamofficial.com site, written by lauriellen
What a beautiful night in Pittsburgh. It was about 75 degrees and clear. We had seats on the side about 8 rows up. I refuse to get floor seats unless it’s in the first 2 rows because I’m under 5′ tall. I was with my husband of 30 years who was kind enough to take me and put up with Adamobsession as he enjoys the fringe benefits. I’m not going to give you just what I think of the songs. You have heard enough of that. I ‘m giving you the whole experience.
Michael- Anyway, there was a Steeler game on last night. So Sarver came out and mentioned that and said he was happy to see such a crowd when there was a game on TV. Note to those who are not Steeler fans: All games are sold out. Even the pre-season games. So they show the games on TV. And we Steeler fans plan our lives around the Steeler’s schedule. They were playing in DC. So at least we didn’t have to deal with that traffic. Everything in Pittsburgh is within 1/2 mile except for the airport. Michael sounded great, but I was very excited as I hadn’t been to any concert since Clay Aiken’s Juke Box Tour.
Megan-Is too lumpy now to be wearing a tube top. Or was it a dress? She is beautiful though. She should consider modeling as long as she learns to walk in heels. She realy isn’t very smooth. I enjoyed her songs though. She waved a Terrible Towel. That will always get applause in this town.
Scott- Please stop with the joke about Simon. Without him, that little show that is responsible for your 15 minutes of fame, would be nothing. He’s always right, except for his opinion of Adam’s “Ring of Fire”. I don’t remember what he sang. But I remember thinking he was better than on the show.
Anoop- I love “Always On My Mind”.. It is one of the 3 songs I listen to on my AI CD. Now, I’m not into facial hair at all. But he looks damn cute these days. I was not a fan of his on AI but I really liked his set.
Lil- There are several genres of music that I don’t like, R&B/Mowtown, Country and Southern Rock. I was spared all but the R&B last night. I’m just not into those songs she sang. There are so many people with that same sound. She has great pipes. But I don’t see her being a breakout “star”. She can probably make money as a backup singer or studio artist. I didn’t like her outfit. Not flattering at all. I’m diggin the glitter shoes as I had a pair of silver glitter platforms in 1975.
Matt- I like Matt a lot more than on the show. It seemed on AI that we just couldn’t get rid of him. I don’t like fedoras. Too much Justin wannabe. But he has MAD piano skills. If I were him, I would not do any singing without that piano in front of me. Surprisingly great performance. He also waved a Terrible Towel. I think I mentioned that it will always bring applause in this town.
Group number-eh. OK I guess. But I love Michael singing “Suspicious Minds”. Can’t go wrong with an Elvis tune.
Allison-Loved her on the show. She rocks AND she can get around in heels. She really works the stage. I would like to see her in some color other than black. She needs a stylist.
Danny- I was going to take a bathroom break but the line was long before the show and I didn’t want to risk missing one second of Adam. I was also skerd that I may pee myself when Adam came out so I was a little stressed and couldn’t really concentrate on Danny. My husband, who doesn’t say much, said that Danny was boring. In fact, everyone he talked to today about the concert, he said “Everyone was good, except Danny. He was boring.” He so tries to compete with Adam. And that is just pathetic. He seemed to miss some notes too.

Adam-I’ll save HRH for last. HA HA, you have to wait. Now don’t you go scrolling down.
Kris- They had this huge opening, almost like Adam’s. So I expected a loud, rockin number. And it wasn’t. So I was disappointed. I liked heartless. But what is with the marquis styled penises on each side of him that say “Heartless”? Now you know where my head is after Adam. I liked the Killers’ tune and “Ain’t No Sunshine”, but “Hey Jude” is just too sappy for my taste. The only thing that rocked this song was Adam coming out at the end.
Group Song- I really don’t like Journey and this was a very sad time for me because I knew it would be the last time I would see Adam. His album and tour can’t come fast enough. Have we thought about who will open for him? How about Kiss? LOL after what Mr. Pointed Tongue said about Adam ruining his career by coming out. I think I may have shed a tear when Adam went down into the stage.
ADAM!-HOLY SH!T His hair is getting long and shaggy again. Too hot. I like him any hair style, but the asymetrical, spiked hair is my favorite, which is why I have my hair cut that way. Although I had it cut this way in 1988. His WLL was epic. As Flaminga pointed out. The mike stand came in the back door. Too Hot! We got a reallly long “WOMAN”, some hard stroking of the mike stand and his high notes were not of this world. “Starlight” and “Mad World” were stellar. “Slow Ride” was great. He introduced Allison as his little sister. They are having fun, fun and more fun. The Bowie medly was awesome. How can anyone stay in their seats and not dance? Somebody threw a shawl type thing onto the stage. Adam wrapped it around his neck and shoulders and twirled it around before throwing it back. It looked like people were trying to throw stuff. But nothing was making it to the stage. I guess we need to find things that won’t hurt Adam but that are also more aerodynamic. The feeling I got from Adam’s performance is that he is so very happy with where he is. It’s like he’s smiling with his whole body. I don’t get this same feeling when I watch AI videos, probably because he was trying to win, strategizing, and not doing exactly what he wanted to do. In his word, “on my best behavior”. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. The way he shares that with me (I mean us). It is inspiring. I smiled the whole way home. “Cryin” came on the radio during our ride home. I had to jump on the computer and play Adam’s version just to get Aerosmith’s version out of my head. When we got home, my husband enjoyed a special “thank you”. We would like to thank Adam for the foreplay.
New Idol Tour concert trend – Adam Lambert wearing purple earplugs!

He said it many times but apparently fans could not help it. The screaming fans are following Adam Lambert on Idol Tour and even if it’s wonderful to see their excitement, so Adam’s ears and hearing are too precious to be destroyed in this way.
So Adam found apparently a both gorgeous and practical solution: PURPLE EARPLUGS!

Adam Lambert, ‘child’ of Elvis and Edward Scissorhands is a ‘star material’ – by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Post-gazette.com made a review from the American Idol concert in Pittsburgh, written by Scott Mervis and published today.
Last night at the Mellon Arena, one thing was clearly reinforced in front of the near sold-out crowd: Adam Lambert is star material.
If Elvis Presley and Edward Scissorhands could somehow have a child, it would look somewhat like this Idol runner-up who has already graced the cover of Rolling Stone and will have to come up with some absolutely abysmal songs to not top the charts when his album drops.
Lambert came out ninth in a swirl of fog to the power chords of “Whole Lotta Love,” dressed like a leather-clad villain in “Terrordome.” Then he backed up the glam-rock swagger with a beautifully supple voice that can hit the notes and take them to the next level.
Along with the Led Zep tune and a Bowie medley — who ever would expect “Life on Mars” in such a mainstream show? — Lambert did a dreamy version of Muse’s “Starlight” and then sang Tears for Fears’ “Mad World” like an angel. Although the crowd had its share of screaming little girls, it didn’t stop Lambert from going NC-17 during “Whole Lotta Love” by putting the mike stand between his legs and doing a long slow stroke to freak out their moms.
Megan Joy about Adam Lambert’s fans: ‘I know I’m going to need a hearing aid later in life’
Posted by MsAlex in All Adam, American Idol 8, August 2009, Family & Friends, Idol 8 Tour on August 18th, 2009
E! Online made an interview with Megan Joy, published on the 17th of August 2009 (by Carrie Borzillo Vrenna), where she mentiones Adam, his album and his fans:
Have you heard any of the music that Adam, Kris Allen or Allison Iraheta are working on?
I have! I’ve heard Adam’s and Allison’s, and it’s amazing. I can’t wait.
I hear the fans for the guys are a lot crazier than the fans for the girls. What’s going on out there?
Yeah, they absolutely are. If we’re outside signing and Adam comes out, I know I’m going to need a hearing aid later in life because the girls scream so loud. I swear 12-year-old girls have the craziest voice boxes in the world.
‘Adam Lambert did indeed emerge as the best swimmer’ – Idol Tour concert review by RocNow.com

Adam-fragments:
Every time the Harlem Globetrotters come to town, you know the outcome. It’s the same with American Idol, which follows up the show each summer with the same unimaginative template of a tour, inserting different faces into the well-established roles.
While my prayers that a guy named Anoop would win American Idol went unanswered, the drama on this year’s show was that the wrong guy won. Saturday night at the Blue Cross Arena, many of the 7,000 fans made it known at every opportunity that the fella in eyeliner, Adam Lambert, was their choice over the actual winner, Kris Allen.
Thrown into the deep end of the pool by virtue of their top-10 finishes in Idol, Lambert did indeed emerge as the best swimmer, much like another hard rocker who Idol observers thought should have won, Chris Daughtry in 2006. Lambert was perfect for a medley of David Bowie’s “Life on Mars,” “Fame” and “Let’s Dance.” But how much was Lambert’s talent, and how much was the choice of songs like Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love?”
Hmmmm: We’ve been here before. That same song — and black eyeliner — also worked for Daughtry three years ago.
