Before you read it: the author is definitely not an Adam-fan.
One of the most negative critics of Adam’s performance so far. Written by John J. Moser from themorningcall.com on 9th of September 2009.
Adam-fragments below:
Winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert ironically seemed to have advanced the least. One could argue that’s because they least needed to, and both seem to have found niches.
Lambert was the clear favorite of the near-capacity crowd and the night’s best performer, but his theatrical set was very Broadway until he finished with a David Bowie medley of “Fame” and “Let’s Dance” that suited him well.
(Allison Iraheta’s) best performance was a duet with Lambert on Foghat’s “Slow Ride,” though its wasn’t Lambert’s, as he overdosed on his trademark yelps.
Lambert’s opening “Whole Lotta Love” was very loud, but not at all muscular, which is what the song requires. He was better on his showcase of Tears for Fears’ “Mad World,” but wasn’t as good as he was on the show.
He hit a stride, though, on the Bowie songs, taking off his jacket and dancing a grind that – despite his proclamation he’s gay – had women screaming and brought a bra flung up on stage.
It was telling that his set actually was longer than Allen’s, despite the latter being the supposed headliner. Lambert got by far the bigger screams and cheers.

This was totally inaccurate. “Whole Lotta Love” doesn’t need to be “muscular.” You don’t see people flexing their muscles when they sing it.
“Mad World” was eerie and beautiful on tour. Anyone who disagrees might just have different taste, but this was downright critical and just wrong.
And what do you mean, the women screamed “despite his proclamation that he’s gay”? Do you think he’s lying now?? C’mon. Really.

This had to be written by someone who has issues with women screaming for a gay guy. The criticism was SO unfounded so as to be laughable. The tour I saw, and the 100 or so other reviews I’ve read all agree–Adam is a superstar and his performance is beyond amazing! Adam is too–a gift to the world!
