This is a try to present here some more fragments+links to the reviews of ‘Time For Miracles’ I manage to collect.
Pictures are made on the basis of High Quality video from the official 2012 movie site.
Lyndsey Parker from Reality Rocks blog on yahoo.com has been one of the first journalists to comment on the release – and on the song itself.
In her article published on the 17th of Oct 2009 she writes:
The song certainly has rock cred, as it was recorded by Green Day/My Chemical Romance superproducer Rob Cavallo and co-written by Alain Johannes of Eleven/Spinnerette/Queens Of The Stone Age and his late partner Natasha Shneider. But this is certainly no little hipster/indie sleeper tune, nor is it the eccentric electropop promised to be featured on Adam’s upcoming debut album.
No, “Time For Miracles” is exactly the type of song a multi-jillion-dollar action flick requires: It’s four minutes and 44 seconds of unapologetically unsubtle, over-the-top, ostentatious bombast and bluster and Bic-flicking power-balladry, a la Aerosmith’s Armageddon anthem “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” or U2′s Batman blitzkrieg “Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me,” or even Berlin’s Top Gun smash “Take My Breath Away.”

Mtv.com by Jocelyn Vena, published on 21st October 2009:
In the video, Lambert dons his best Goth clothes and anguished face as he makes his way through disaster scene after disaster scene, as everyone else around flees falling buildings and debris raining down from a fiery sky. Despite the fact that the world is coming to an end around him, Lambert looks triumphantly straight into the camera and sings about not giving up on a lost love.
Scenes of Lambert mugging for the camera and belting out the midtempo power ballad are intercut with clips from the John Cusack film. Toward the end of the song, the “American Idol” runner-up begins to show off his signature range and turn up the volume as he stands on top of a building.

Listening to Adam Lambert’s “Time for Miracles” is kind of like watching a volcano on the brink of eruption. There’s a lot of bubbling and buildup and anticipation, all leading to the point where things finally explode in a torrent of heat and magma and glory notes.
That moment arrives at the 3:30 mark, as Adam exits the bridge and tackles the chorus once more (with feeling), riffing magnificently over the melody as a tidal wave of strings swells up around him. And while the Adam-volcano parallel is an obvious one to make — after all, there’s no use denying the “American Idol” season 8 runner-up possesses a voice that’s its own uncontainable force of nature — the epic scope and execution of “Time for Miracles” never seems forced or ridiculous.

It definitely sounds like our boy, but I have to say I’m a little puzzled/troubled by such a blatantly “commercial” move. Aren’t power ballads for Hollywood blockbusters something an artist traditionally does later in their career when they are either trying to cash in, prove they are still relevant or both?

Rockstar Weekly , Adam Lambert Video Shows A Monumental Performer
Rocker Adam Lambert has just released his first music video, a concept piece for the song Time For Miracles from the movie 2012 today (Oct. 21). The song, which was leaked by iTunes in several countries early last week, is a powerful classic rock styled ballad sounding much like something Queen would have released had it been the band responsible for the song. If the rest of his debut album strives to be monumental like Queen, Lambert will be the artist of the 2010′s, just as Queen was in the 70s and Michael Jackson was in the 80s.

Sony wins the trifecta for formula, strategy and timing on this one. How is this done? First-produce a film about the end of the world. Second – release a powerhouse song from the film, performed by the newest g-force in music. Third – scruff him up, dress him down, add a sexy pout, and drop him into a music video comprised of clips from your blockbuster disaster movie -
then wait.
And have your bean counters on standby for an all night-er.
As for Lambert, his world is anything but over. And although this song may not be representative of the musical style contained in his upcoming CD, it’s a solid introduction into the mainstream.
2012 may be the year of global destruction, but 2010 could be the year of global domination for Adam Lambert.

It’s as sappy and schlocky as you ever wanted. The “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” for the Twitter generation. There was a time when we wondered if this song would be able to match the cheese level of Aerosmith’s Armageddon ballad. It does. Be sure to stick around until 3:30 when Adam lets loose like a cat with its tail stuck in the car door. It’s glorious.

As usual, your website and Adam coverage is exceptions. I LOVE the TFM songs. And, I think it is a fantastic way to start a career.
Remember several other World-Class Superstars used a movie theme to help launch and solidify their careers – Barbara Streisand and Celiene Dion!
Adam’s talent is so vast that there is no reason he should paint himself into a creative corner doing only the “rock-stuff.” He can do anything … and Adam’s anything will result in a fan base with huge representation of all classes, styles and generations.
Keep up the good work!
