Adam Lambert about Anoop Desai to heraldsun.com in Greensboro

Anoop Desai performed recently with the Idol Tour in his home state, North Carolina.
In this connection, Beth Velliquettefrom HeraldSun.com made an interview with Anoop (published on 3rd of August 2009) in Greensboro – and asked among others Adam Lambert to make some comments about his person.
The interview is however only available to read by the subscribers (I’m not the one, so I found the text on ondt_ai)

Anoop in North Carolina

Chapel Hill’s Anoop Desai came home to North Carolina Sunday during the “American Idol”:
“It was really special for me to be onstage, to be home in front of a North Carolina crowd and be appreciated like that and have them stand up and cheer for me as long as they did,” he said.

Adam Lambert about Anoop and his voice

Desai’s friend and fellow “American Idol” alum Adam Lambert said he admires Desai’s voice.
“Anoop, his voice is so technically skilled. He can do very, very difficult things with his voice. His tone is beautiful.”
Lambert also appreciates Desai’s intelligence and humor backstage and on the tour bus.
“He’s quiet,” Lambert said. “He’s not one of the more rambunctious ones. He always makes me laugh. I’m not going to lie, some of the things he says go over people’s heads.”
Lambert — who is already working on his album, which is due out in November — said he hopes Desai will have a record deal soon.
“I wish him tons of luck on that,” Lambert said. “I don’t think he needs my wish of luck on that. I think that’s going to happen.”

Some practical info behind the contract with 19 Entertainment

Desai is hoping for a record deal, but can’t make any announcements yet.
“It’s the same thing I say all the time,” he said. “It’s what I am working toward.”
Desai is under contract now with 19 Recordings, but that contracts ends at the end of August, leaving him free to talk to any record label.

Eve Carson
Anoop also mentioned his tragically murdered friend , Eve Carson, the Student Body President at North Carolina University, who encouraged him to try out

“It’s just knowing that she would be proud — that pumps me up before shows”

Anoop was great, and so were all the idols….especially Adam! They rocked the house in Greensboro! Anoop is a great singer! We loved it when he got his groove on!

So sweet and truthful of Adam to say. Anoop is amazing. He MUST get a record deal soon. In my opinion, 19E would be stupid not to sign him, but if they don’t I know someone will! He has worldly appeal with “Anoop Troopers” all over the globe already. He’s going to be successful without a doubt. :)

It’s so sweet of Adam to say those about Anoop. I do hope Anoop gets a record deal very soon. He is amazing and a lot of people, not only Anoop Troopers are waiting for it. He has a way of reaching out to people no matter what age group they are in or race.

I saw quite a few youtube videos of Anoop’s performances in Charlotte and Greensboro. He was so pumped! And the performances were very good, even for his already high standard. I really want to do everything I can do as a random fan to help him get signed.
